Kids And The Sea

KATS Sea Skills Program

Sea Skills is the next stepping stone for both boys and girls who have graduated from the swimming class. In the Sea Skills class, the kids learn how to row boats, and also learn their knot tying skills.

One of the great things besides learning to row and maneuver the boats is the students learning to work as a team, as the boats are rowed with 6 - 8 students at a time. The teamwork that the kids learn in Sea Skills is very important in all the other level of classes, sailing, scuba, and to some extent, windsurfing.

At the completion of the rowing classes it's a great thing to see the boats being rowed in a straight line, a far cry from the beginning stages of the classes, where most of the boats constantly were going in circles!

Knot tying is something that most children in the world have not learned growing up, and comes in to use in the other KATS programs. The knot tying class also teaches patience, and the will to practice something until perfect, trying both instructor and students!

Come on and learn Sea Skills with us and open up a whole new world!!
